2008 Student Nurse Extern Summer Opportunities University of Missouri Health Care is offering 12 week summer employment opportunities for students entering their senior year in nursing school looking to gain valuable professional experience! Goals· To provide an opportunity for student nurses to increase nursing skills and knowledge through clinical practice with a professional nurse preceptor. · To provide student nurses with a role model for the practice of professional nursing. · To provide clinical experience helpful in making the transition from student nurse to professional nurse. Requirements · Applicants must be within one year of graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. · Minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Please mail or bring a copy of grades or transcript to your interview. · Completion of application by February 8, 2008. · Provide two instructor references, including one from your most recent school of nursing clinical instructor, please mail, fax or bring with you to your interview. · Attend a personal interview. The interview dates are 2/27/08 or 2/28/08. · AHA BLS for healthcare providers is required.
